The Applus corporate philosophy is driven by our commitment to improving air quality, being a good corporate citizen and making fair and ethical decisions focused on long-term benefits to our customers, employees and local communities. That commitment is as strong today as when we first opened our doors in 1996.
Applus Making a Difference
Applus understands the positive impact our technology and program solutions can have on a community’s air quality and on the bottom line of our business customers. We are dedicated to continually improving the technologies that positively impact our environment and support our clients’ business objectives.
Applus dedicates Executive time and company resources to numerous causes, associations and Boards of Directors. Applus CEO Tom Springer, for example, serves as Chairman of the North American Regional Advisory Group of CITA, an international non-profit association dedicated to improving vehicle emissions and safety inspection technologies to improve road safety and benefit the environment worldwide. Business Development Director Jack Pierce serves on the Board of the Connected Vehicle Trade Association (CVTA). The CVTA is an international organization of the various industries and organizations necessary to develop Dedicated Short-Range Communications solutions as part of the U.S. Department of Transportation’s IntelliDrive® initiative. Applus is also active with organizations such as the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance and the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators.
Applus believes its leadership role as the vehicle emissions testing provider to hundreds of communities across the U.S. should extend beyond contractual obligations to include proactive initiatives that positively impact our local communities. Applus is a leading proponent of recycling in our communities and at our testing facilities. As we upgrade technology, we either reuse or recycle older computers and obsolete testing equipment. Applus has been recognized as one of the “Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction” in our Washington State program. We also sponsor numerous charitable and environmentally focused events as well as industry and academic conferences on technologies and issues that impact air quality.
